Garmata Devi Temple, Salekasa

Garmata Devi Temple of Salekasa is one of the tourist places of Gondia district. It is 26 km away from Gondia. Raipur and Nagpur are only 140 km from here.

How to Reach

One cane reach the places by Maharashtra State transport buses or by railway also. Private tourist travel buses also available for Garmata Devi Temple.

How to Plan

Visitors can plan their tour for 1) Garmata Devi Temple 2) Hazra Fall 3) Kachaargarh Cave and surrounding flora and fauna. One cane also visit the adivasi communities in the Salekasa tahsil. Import tant luck is that Dongargarh Bambleshwari Temple is only 35 km.

History

It is sad that many years ago when Salekasa was a village of only 20-25 huts and houses, the cow-boys to graze their cattle in the hills. Cowboys sometimes saw extraordinary lady in red saree. She disappear in a glance. After some days people found devine statue of Goddess on the hills. She was named "Garmata Devi" by native peoples. The statue found on "Garh" (hill) hence the name.

 The statue is two and half feet high. The goddess is seated on lion. She fulfills once dreams and wishes for successful life.

Administration

Founder of Garmata Devi Temple Trust late Shivraobabu was rail employee. He worked hard for development of temple and prenises. After its death the temple is looked after by the trust. Trust is working hard for its development as spiritual and picnic spot also. Garden, Dharmshala, Gathering hall, bath rooms are constructed by collection of fund from people. Drinking water is also made available. Decorative lighting at night adds to the beauty of nature. Staircases are made from bottom of hill upto the  temple at hill top special arrangement for parking two wheelers, four wheelers, tractors, bullock-carts also the work of administrative body.

Other attraction are as follows

Pragat Mandir :- Temple of Goddess Durga is just behind the main temple. It is nature's wonder.

Shankar Mandir :- It is at downside in the west. It is surrounded by dense forest. Huge, black stones adds more in the beauty of temple.

Seetadhuni :- It is natural, circular pond of fresh water. It is formed in stones naturally. Water is not coming from outside but it seen to be a well. The well at the height of 500 feet from the ground.

Memorial of Shivraobabu :- The memorial can be seen from main temple. Gardern is going to be developed in its surrounding.

 

Conscious Temple, Gayatri Shaktipeeth, Gondia

This famous temple set up in north direction of Gondia city which resembles for knowledge, good habits and delocalized nature as per religious matter. Nearly four hundred visitors came to here by various wanted.

Gayatri Shaktipeeth was set up by the great Philosopher Pandith Shriramji Sharma who is chief of Youg Nirman Yojna Haridwar (U. P.) by the date of 20th Dec. 1981.

The main purpose of this Gayatri Shaktipeeth is to be make good habitual to man kind. All these man kinds are unseperable organs of Gayatri family. These are circulating the great thing of Gurudeva with help of discussion, meetings in nearer villages and cities.

At the time of Shaktipeeth development there were three trusties appointed  these were Kannubhai Thakker, Balwant Roydas and Munnikumar Bhadupote. Among these now a trusties Munnikumar Bhadupote is in acting. The building works and its attraction was completed by Architecture  Raman Pucchikar. The arrangement and requirements of Shaktipeeth is managed by Narayandas Chhitarka, Shamjibhai Kariya, Sou. Seemaben Patel. Now a days Narayandas Chhitarka is acting as manager on full charge.

Ancient Shiva Temple, Nagra, (Gondia)

Nagra village which is recognized as ancient located 5 km away from Gondia in north direction. By dipping of this village, Himadpanti Shiva Temple is observed by this it is concluded that, this village have been set up before 22 years ago. Name Nagra is after the name lord Nagraj. This is an assumption of peoples. This temple have been constructed in the century of 12th -13th which is constructed by 16 pillars without any joint. It is also concluded that there is ground house below this temple. This village comes in progress after discovery of this temple, it is made up by black stone where so many designs are drown. There is a Shiva-Linga which is isolated from other organ of body. There are four faces around the Linga. In addition to this there are stone bodies of lard Ganesh, Parwati and Naga. There is long tunnel from this temple. Beside in south direction there is big Bunion tree, below this there is small temple of village Devi. The main get is in east direction while new get is in north direction means setting of this of this temple is Archeologically obeyed.

Beside this temple there is another Hanumana temple in which Nag-devta, Ganeshji, Shivaji, Ambadevi and Calbhayrva are situated. At the time of Shivaratri, a very famous fair is organized for the rememoral of all these.

Shri Saibaba Temple, Gondia

Shri, Shri 108 Pujya Kalyan Baba Amarkanthak is establisher of this temple in presence of president, Sant Shiromani, Shri Gulab Baba and Anusaya Mata (Paradsinga).

Shri Chakradhara Swami Temple, Sukli (Tirora)

This famous temple is  located 13 km away from Tirora which is 31 km away from Gondia. Here, Shri Chakradhara Swami was localized for some years due to which this becomes famous throughout Maharashtra.

Shri Chakradhara Swami the son of Haripaldev  Bhadoch (Gujarat). From Gujarat he come to Maharashtra at Rhidhapur (Amravati) in Maharashtra Katowl, Mansur, Ramtek, Mauda and lastly to Dakram Sukli, Tirora (Gondia) this is the path traveled by Chakradhara Swami. After diner he go to Deveshwara temple for the rest people goted him and tell about existence of lion in this area and really lion come to rich and experienced his existence by making loud sound then Swamiji  after and leveled that place and go far away. In the morning of next day when resonals peoples come and saw, Swamiji was not found therefore, all these establishment have been down, which is famous by the name Shri Chakradhara Swami temple Dakram Sukli.

Near to this temple there is a big tree referred as Umber Math, Veghneshwara temple .

Now a days new construction for visitors attraction is in progress due to which appears very attractive. Here, five days far is organized every year in the session of Chaitra-Panchami which is famous throughout Vidarbha in this far so many visitors are come from long distance for obtaining there various wanted.

Shri Chakradhara Swami in nothing but lord according Mahanubhv Pantha. Lord Shri Krushana Chakrwarti, Shri Dattatrya Prabhu, Shri Chakrapani, Shrigovind Prabhu  and Chakradhara Swami these five are the various appearance of lord.

Mandodevi Temple, (Goregaon)

Mandodevi Temple The temple of goddess Mandodevi is situated in dense forest near Tedha. It is 15 Km. from Goregaon. To visit state transport buses are available.

Maa Mandodevi Dewasthan Trust manages marriages every year. People visit in chitra & navraatra mahotsav.

Main temple of Maashakti Mandodevi is situated on hill top & Shiva temple, Hanumana temple are also present. Maa Annapurna temple is situated inside the cave. The temple is made up of single huge black stone. Lake is situated in south.

Shri Sooryadev temple is 4 Km away from this hill. Shri Sooryadev is also situated on the top of hill.

Villagers say that Lion always visits at night to worship Mandodevi but never hurts other.

Mahadeo Hill (Amgaon)

Mahadeo temple is situated on the hill. It is three km. from Amgaon statues of durga, shankara and Hnumana are placed in the temple.

Gadhmaata Temple, (Salekasa)

Gadhmaata temple is only kilometer away from Salekasa. Temple is built on hill in the dense forest. Greenery increases the spiritual value of this place.

According to people sayings lion visits here every night.

Dhukeshwari Temple, (Deori)

Ancient temple are situated on all corners of Deori. One of them is near bus stand. Maa Dhukeshwari Maata Mandir Trust. Reg. no.- A/215. arranges fairs one the pious occasions of Navratra & Chaitra every year.

Shri Gurushing Sabha (Gurudwara), Railtoli, Gondia

Shri Gurusingh Sabha (Gurudwara)Shri Gurusingh Sabha (Gurudwara) was established in the year of 1932. At the time of its construction it was the only Gurudwara present around Gondia. Every year Guru Gurudevaji Maharaj's and Guru Govindshing Maharaj's birthday is celebrated as any other Indian festival on the same day, known as Guruparva.

This Gurudwara also serves a social hall for marriages and other programes at a negligible charge for the members of their community. On every Sunday Bhajans are sung by the devotees, which is followed by tea and breakfast. The trust is managed by the Pradhan who is elected every year.
