On 1st May 1999, Bhandara
District was divided to form two new districts - Bhandara and Gondia.
Gondia district includes Gondia, Tirora, Goregaon, Amgaon, Salekasa,
Devri, Sadak Arjuni and Arjuni Morgaon talukas. The district
headquarters is Gondia.

Pradesh is to the north and east of Gondia District. Gadchiroli district
is to the south and Bhandara district is to the west of Gondia.
