There are some small scale and large scale industries in Gondia district.

The most important industry of this district is gathering tendu leaves from the forests and making bidis from them. This industry is found in Gondia, Tirora, Deori, Amgaon, Salekasa and other places. Gum and lac are also gathered from the forests. Baskets, mats and other articles are made from bamboo. Cutting wood making wooden articles is also an industry of this district. Makings bricks, tiles and earthenware pots from alluvial soil is another occupation here. Various kinds of articles are made at Gondia from horns of animals. Fishing in lakes and rivers is also an occupation here.

Rice husking mills are found at many places in the district. There are many such mills in Gondia taluka. Rice mills are also seen in Gondia, Tirora, Amgaon, Mundicota, etc. There is a paper mill at Changera neat Gondia. A tiles factory is located at Rajegaon. Khamari near Gondia has a mill for pressing oil from rice husks. Saw mills are situated at Gondia, Navegaon Bandh, Tirora and Amgaon.
