AROUND GONDIA

This is the district headquarters and an important junction on the Mumbai-Calcutta railway line. Bidis, articles from lac and horn are made here. Gondia is famous for Rice-mill and Saw-mills. Trading in grains and forest produce is carried out on a large scale in this place. There is a television transmission centre here. There is a very big lake near Gondia at Khalbanda. The lake and its scenic beauty make the place worth visiting. 

This is the taluka headquarters. It has many rice mills. It has a market place for rice. Bidis are rolled on a large scale from Tirora. This railway stations is located on the Mumbai-Calcutta railway line. The Bodalkasa lake is near Tirora. Water is supplied from here for agriculture.
